"Great Performances! Outstanding Production! Great
Theater!"
"There were some
parts that were stellar, of Broadway caliber, a true pleasure
to watch! I mean, I would have paid like 60 dollars or
more to see them (like for LION KING or whatever they
do in the big theater). Thanks for bringing this show
to Cincinnati. We should all be proud of what Cincinnati
can do!"
"The large Nazgul bird was
GREAT!"
"Excellent performance! Thanks for a wonderful experience!"
"My praise to Sam and Faramir for wonderful performances.
The fight scenes were nothing short of amazing, they left
me wanting to come back so I could focus on every single
detail. The costumes and puppets were phenomenal, and
there’s a certain charm to the rolling steps. I
particularly enjoyed Frodo’s Gollum-sequence, which
was very well done."
"Pippin was super!"
"You are all geniuses!"
"Absolutely great!"
"Denathor was GREAT! I also liked Gollum, Gimli,
Sam, Frodo, and Pippin."
"Amazing. Fantastic."
"I don’t go to plays very often because I think
theater often misses the mark when it comes to emotions.
But this was like a really good Disney story. …
just like any good Disney, you pulled me in! You made
me laugh when I really needed to … and then you
made me cry. Part of it was the words, part of it was
the acting, part of it was the music, part timing, but
you all managed to hit the right EMOTIONAL BUTTONS at
just the right moments. When I thought it was done, it
wasn’t. And, at first I was mad, but then I saw
why you kept going, because you raised the bar. And you
kept raising it. And raising it. And it was a real challenge
for me. Thank you for bringing me BACK to the theater
and believing that theater can do what music does…
or what Disney does. You are all beautiful. God bless
you all for bringing this story TO LIFE. I can only think
that Professor Tolkien would be pleased with the story
that you told tonight. Oh, and tell your musician that
his music was perfect! Absolutely perfect!"
"You rotten bastards you made me cry! Not once, but
at LEAST 3 times. Damn you! Damn you all!"
"How did you find so many good looking AND talented
people to do this show? The hobbits could market a fitness
program. Frodo’s got ABS OF STEAL [sic], Sam’s
got AWESOME PIPES – both legs and arms, and Merry
and Pippin have GOT to be in great shape the way they
run allover stage and fly thru the air! I want to come
to your dressing room and just watch you all change clothes!
Can I? Yummy, yummy show – you’re all tastey!"
"I’ve seen all three shows. This is by far
the best for two reasons: all your hobbits are boys (and
they’re the right size – where did you find
so many little guys?) and you had just the right mix of
battles and romance and love and friendship. When Theoden
died, I was really sad. And after Gollum bit off Frodo’s
finger I thought ok we’re done. But then I was so
happy when Sam said, I don’t like this ending and
there was the wedding and everyone came back together!
The confetti was beautiful!!! The ending, the ending-ending
at the end, was so wonderfully perfect. Frodo said this
is how it has to end and he’s right! I was happy
and sad and choked up and you all just made me so glad
I came to see this show! Thank you, thank you!"
"Bravo!"
"This whole series has been remarkable – and
each script better than the predecessor. This is a fine
adaptation – and it helps that you have found your
thematic focus on the notion of friendship. Congratulations
to everyone involved on a superb piece of theatre –
not to mention – IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!"
"Way to go CLEAR STAGE!"
"Outstanding work!"
"The use of the Horses was masterful and extremely
believable. All of your Rowan [sic] people were perfect
– rugged and earthy. The elfs [sic] were beautiful.
Hobbits were cute. Gimli was hilarious – she’s
just got perfect timing! The acting was spectacular! Gandalf’s
orb reflects of fthe walls + provides a stunning effect"
"Yeah! Another wonderful production! New Company
–YEAH!!! Congratulations and best of luck to you
all and to CLEAR STAGE CINCINNATI!"
"I want to take the hobbits home in my pocket and
make wild hobbit-love to them all."
"You have written and produced a great finale to
the trilogy. The writing is tighter and the production
quality is improved over the previous two. When I viewed
it last evening with my mother, I was pleased to see it
come together. …I believe those in attendance were
very moved and pleased with the quality of your production.
I had tears in my eyes!"
"Congratulations on your preview last night! You
had a great crowd there, who obviously loved the show.
I wish you all the best for your run over the next week!
Please pass my congrats on to everyone."
"What a terrific experience I had this afternoon–
I laughed, wept, rejoiced and grieved right along with
all of the wonderful characters that the company brought
to life. Sam’s performance moved me to tears both
for his pain and helped to heal some of my own. The script
evoked such a range of responses from me, I feel as if
I lived a lifetime in one day. Cincinnati is a better
place for having this play in it. Thank you for a wonderful
afternoon of ‘fellowship’"
